The Instructional Leader’s position is a cabinet level position responsible for direct administrative supervision of curriculum and instruction, and accountability of instructional and supervisory staff. This position substantially and effectively assists in the task of providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services for pedagogical staff at Cleary School for the Deaf. The position serves as the chief academic administrator at the request of or in the absence of the Executive Director.
Provide direct assistance to the Executive Director in strategic planning, implementation and monitoring of results of Curriculum and Instruction Services aligned with NYS standards.
Support the Executive Director in the continuous review and revision of educational and operational goals and objectives, and efforts to measure progress toward their attainment.
Oversee, implement, and evaluate a strategic long-term plan with action steps to produce expected ends/results with pedagogical staff to impact student achievement.
Oversee Satellite Programs in East Islip.
Assist in the determination and making recommendations of types of programs needed to be implemented, developed, and improved at Cleary School for the Deaf.
Coordinate ongoing diagnosis and assessment of academic achievement by managing the collection, analysis, and reporting of data.
Conduct monthly meetings with instructional staff as well as frequent meetings with administrative staff.
Supervision and evaluation of the Principal, educational supervisors, teachers, and administrative staff.
Prepare, review, and edit reports requested from the Executive Director and/or Board of Trustees.
Additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director.
