Instructional Director - Alise Becker-Santa

It is a sincere pleasure for me to join the Administration team of the Cleary School. As the prior Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Personnel for the East Islip School District for the past eleven years I have served as East Islip’s liaison to the Cleary School. I have been familiar with the Satellite Program in East Islip and am enjoying getting to know everyone at each of our school sites.

I started my career within the New York City Public Schools. I have had the experience of teaching grades Pre K through 6 before becoming an administrator. I was Principal at P.S. 202 in Brooklyn, NY before moving onto East Islip. There I served as Principal at Ruth C. Kinney Elementary School, a grade K-6 school at that time, and then became the Principal in the East Islip Middle School, grades 6 – 8.  My experience at the district level afforded me the opportunity to get to know instructional materials and programs that are beneficial to various types of learners. I have been recognized by those I have worked with over the years as a true educational leader and champion for children. I am very proud of this.

Very recently I was selected as the Administrator of the Year, by the New York State School Counselors’ Association. This is a recognition I am quite proud of as I was recommended by those who I have worked alongside.

In the months ahead, it is my goal to get to know each of our students and their families. I am here to support the staff and our students as we encourage them to reach towards new and exciting milestones and accomplishments. I can be reached at (631) 224-2160 or abecker-santa@clearyschool.org
