The goal of the Autism Resource Room is to provide specialized services to our students who are on the Autism spectrum. Students are provided support, sensory integration activities and instruction that follows a multi-sensory approach.
Direct one to one instruction is provided in the resource room with minimal distractions to provide the child with Autism the opportunity to improve verbal and nonverbal communication. Focus is on language, academics and social skills appropriate for each individual student, based on his or her individual needs.
Academic and behavioral supports are also provided as a “push=in” service. This allows the student to remain in their home classroom environment while offering specific help with academics and social interactions. Adaptations are made to enable the student to be successful.
